Watoto: Where are they Now?

While our Watoto take some well-earned time to relax this summer, we want to check in with our graduates. They’ve really grown up to become successful adults making the world a better place.

Today we highlight Jeff Jenkins, who joined Watoto in 1992. We caught up with Ms. Gail who remembers Jeff fondly, recalling his bubbly personality and can-do attitude. He worked hard and put his best foot forward in each performance he was part of–and always with a smile!

Jeff is now on a mission to inspire those who look like him to travel without fear and push past their perceived limitations to experience everything the world has to offer.

In his TV series "Never Say Never”, Jeff takes us on exhilarating adventures across the globe — including scaling 70 foot cliffs, rafting through white-water rapids, and sailing across stormy seas at the end of the world. Along the way, Jeff forges meaningful relationships with folks from diverse backgrounds and discovers as much about himself as he does about the places he visits.

We are so proud of Jeff! He is an exceptional role model for our current Watoto students and we can’t wait to see where his adventures take him next.

So many of our Watoto graduates are doing amazing work in the community. Keep your eye on future newsletters to hear more about what they’re up to now.

Interested in getting your children involved? Join us on Saturday, September 21st to discover Watoto, our program designed for children aged 5-17.

Watoto nurtures young people to become their best selves through arts and humanities workshops exploring music, dance, visual arts, theater, creative writing, traditional crafts, and much more! The event is free and open to all.
