Becky Tyrrell
Becky Tyrrell has served on the Plainville Board of Education and the Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) Board of Directors for 24 years. During her tenure she has held the office of Chair for both organizations and has served on Policy, Personnel and Finance Committees.
Becky joined the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE) Board of Directors in 2009 and has served as CABE Area 2 Director, Resolutions Chair and and Federal Relations Chair. Becky has testified before the State Legislature and has lobbied at the local, state and federal level for Public Education.
She currently is employed at EdAdvance, a Regional Education Service Center (RESC) in the northwest corner, where she serves as Food Service Director for several school districts in the region. This position has provided her with an extensive knowledge of School Nutrition Programs where she advocates to provide children access to healthy meals.
Becky was one of the original Leadership Team that brought the Relay For Life to Plainville in 2005. She has served in many capacities at the American Cancer Society event over the years and she has been active every year since.
Tyrrell lives in Plainville where she and her husband, David, raised their three children. Becky earned an Associates Degree in Applied Science from Briarwood College and maintains a certification as a Registered Dietetic Technician.
