Juneteenth 2024

Nzinga’s Daughters were busy on Juneteenth! They played three shows, starting in Plainville and then heading to Bristol and Litchfield. Here’s what the audience had to say–

“Those women gave a performance right from their hearts!”

“I attended the Nzinga’s Daughters program Wednesday night. It was amazing, wonderful, superb. And I got a few bits of information to add to my studies.”

“This was great, I really enjoyed it”

These wonderful events brought together many people from different backgrounds to honor Juneteenth. All of the artists, vendors, speakers and attendees brought their own sparkle to the day. This is truly an example of what we’re capable of when we embrace diversity–building inclusive, generous, and united communities. We are stronger together.

Hosting events that inspire this kind of community are what Queen Ann Nzinga Center is all about. That’s why we were honored to host Secretary of the State Stephanie Thomas as our keynote speaker in Plainville. We continue to be inspired by her commitment to public service in Connecticut.

To those of you who came, thank you for joining us! For those who couldn’t make it, we hope you’ll join us next year.

Don’t want to wait that long? Nzinga’s Daughters will be performing all summer long, check out out calendar for more information.
